Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using the calm-otter website (calm-otter.com) and our vehicle rental services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our website or services.

Services Overview

calm-otter provides premium business-class vehicle rental services in Manchester and the surrounding areas. Our services include daily, weekly, and monthly vehicle hire, corporate account management, and delivery services.

Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from calm-otter, you must:

• Be at least 25 years of age
• Hold a valid UK or international driving licence for a minimum of two years
• Provide valid identification and proof of address
• Meet our insurance requirements
• Provide a valid payment method

Reservations and Payments

All reservations are subject to vehicle availability. A deposit may be required at the time of booking, with the balance due upon collection. We accept major credit and debit cards for payment.

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled collection time will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Vehicle Use

You agree to use rented vehicles in accordance with the following conditions:

• The vehicle must only be driven by authorised drivers named on the rental agreement
• The vehicle must not be used for racing, competitions, or driving instruction
• The vehicle must not be driven under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• The vehicle must not be used for illegal purposes
• The vehicle must not be taken outside the United Kingdom without prior written consent
• The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at collection
• Smoking is prohibited in all vehicles

Insurance and Liability

All rentals include comprehensive insurance coverage with an excess amount specified in your rental agreement. You are responsible for the excess in the event of damage or theft. Additional insurance options are available to reduce or eliminate the excess.

You are responsible for any damage to the vehicle not covered by insurance, including damage caused by negligence or breach of these terms.

Fines and Penalties

You are responsible for all fines, penalties, and charges incurred during the rental period, including parking fines, congestion charges, and traffic violations. An administration fee may be charged for processing such penalties.

Vehicle Return

Vehicles must be returned at the agreed time and location. Late returns may incur additional charges at our standard daily rate. Vehicles should be returned in the same condition as collected, allowing for reasonable wear and tear.

Website Use

When using our website, you agree not to:

• Use the site in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
• Transmit any malicious code or harmful content
• Use automated systems to access the site without permission
• Collect or harvest personal information from other users

Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of calm-otter or our content suppliers and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without our express written permission.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, calm-otter shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website or services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant rental service.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless calm-otter, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of our services or violation of these terms.

Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this website. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Use is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
